Angoon Schools Mission Statement
Advisory School Board Philosohy-Goals-Objectives and Coprehensive Plans:
In partnership with parents and community, our mission is to provide a supportive climate where all students are challenged through a holistic approach to develop a core of basic knowledge, technological ability, self-sufficiency, confidence, and self-esteem; and to develop a sense of responsibility to respect for a diverse community as individual and team problem solvers; and to become life-long lovers of learning.
Mission Statement:
The mission of Angoon School is to develop students who possess the motivational attitudes, skills, and, knowledge to pursue their dreams; are prepared to compete in a changing society; and will take on responsibility for citizenship and life-long learning within a safe and healthy environment. This will occur through a dedicated and challenging curriculum that integrates our global and unique cultures, history, and environment while celebrating each person's individuality.
School Philosophy:
The purpose of the school is to provide students with a basic understanding of both the world around them and the skills needed to take responsibility for their own learning. Only in this way will individuals be prepared to meet the challenges of work and responsibilities toward family and community. Classroom programs will address the academic, personal, and social development of the students.
