Denise Jack Ð Special Education Aid

C. S. D. - Chatham School District

Education:   U.A.S. Ð University of Alaska Southeast.  I also participated in required and offered training at the Chatham School District.

Before joining C.S.D.:  Denise was born in Juneau, Alaska, shortly after my family moved around to the Northwest, central Alaska as well as in the lower 48.  I didnÕt make Angoon my home until I was in the sixth grade.  So I was not familiar with a lot of my Native traditions and food.  I graduated from Angoon High School and was the salutatorian for my class.  I went to school in Juneau for a couple years and while going I had my first child.  After having a new baby son, my little family and me had moved back to Angoon.  I then applied as a substitute for Angoon Schools.  I did that for a couple years and them made it to get on as a classroom aid.  Every since then I have been involved with the school.  Other jobs and responsibilities that I have had are:  tutoring, basketball coach, P.E. teacher, and special ed. Aid.

Responsibilities at C.S.D.:  I am required yearly to follow a schedule composed by the teachers, special ed. Requirements for the students and myself.  I will work with student in the classroom to help better their class work.
